Paul Mitchell was born in July of 1962 in Lincoln, Nebraska, and grew up in Galesburg, IL.
In 1980 he joined the Air Force, and after basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas, was sent to the Defense Language Institute to study Russian for 52 weeks, and was thereafter assigned as a Russian Linguist and signals intelligence analyst to the 6912th Electronic Security Group in West Berlin, where he served until late 1985. He left the Air Force Reserve in late 1986, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
After the Air Force he moved to Texas and held jobs in real estate and banking but eventually became a fulltime college student at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a BA in Economics with a minor in History.
For the last eleven years he’s worked in the computer industry as a custom database developer and consultant. Mitchell returned to Illinois in 2002, and now lives in Hainesville, in Lake County.
He is a parishioner at St. Peter Catholic Church in Volo, is married and is the father of five children.
